  and i refers to the square root of -1, which is impossible. If you multiply any number by itself you will get a positive; hence the square root of -1 is not a real number.

Pi is an irrational number because it goes on forever without repeating.

"i" stands for an imaginary number, hence the "get real" part. Jesus explained the rest quite well. A rational number is a whole number, like 6 or -3, or its decimal places repeat evenly, like 5.333333333. Pi is an irrational number, equal to 3.14192....and it keeps going on and on to an infinite amount of random numbers, hence the "be rational part".

Yeah, it's a pretty lame joke, but math geeks like Jesus here really enjoy the humor.
