Photographs captured during the Civil War. I've always found these special because it was the dawning of the era of photography and it happened during such an important part of U.S. history. This really is, "history coming alive". Before photography, all we had were paintings to figure how things 'used' to look. Now, we have pictures and we can see the 1860's in full crisp black and white coming to life before our eyes. Enjoy.
